Athletics Chilwell has a proud history in Athletics since it was formed in 1966 by a local school teacher. Little Athletics was first at Landy field in 1966 followed by the Senior Athletics in 1967. We are a strong family club led by our President of many years in Mary McDonald and have produced many Australian representatives including recent athletes such as Lee Troop- Olympic marathon, Richard Colman - Paralympic and Commonwealth wheelchair races, Jemima Moore - Paralympic wheelchair relay, Luke Bissett - Commonwealth Javelin, Kelly Cartwright - IPC World Championships- 100m & Long Jump, Tessa Consedine - World Juniors 2012 - 400m Hurdles & 4 x 400m relay.

Athletics Chilwell wins the Margaret Saunders Cup at Country Championships

 

For the first time since Chilwell started competing at the Country Championships in 1968 we have won the Margaret Saunders Cup (combined mens & womens teams scores) as well as the ExAthletes Cup (Female team score) at the Country Championships held in Geelong last weekend.- (pictured) Chilwell Club President Mary McDonald receiving the trophy from Pat Agg

This was a fantastic TEAM result and we thank all the athletes and officials involved.

We also finished second in the David Kitt Memorial Trophy (mens team scores) and congratulations to athletes Ned Weatherly who won the Australia Day Award as the most outstanding performed athlete of the meet and Temoe Brown who won the Stuart Hunter Memorial Shield as the outstanding u16 athlete of the meet.

Congratulations to Eliza Walsh & Parker Lawrence (Chilwell little Athletics) who won GOLD at the recent Victorian Primary Schools Track & Field Championships and are now off to represent Victoria at the Nationals in Adelaide. Eliza won the Long Jump and will also compete in the Multis at Nationals while Parker won the 100m & 200m and will also compete in the 4x100m relay at Nationals. Also to Heidi Demeo (Chilwell Senior Athletics) who came second in the 800m to also qualify for the Nationals.Fantastic results !! - UPDATE Heidi Demeo won GOLD in the 800m in a new PB of 2.13.41 and Eliza Walsh won BRONZE in the Long Jump in a PB of 4.72m.

Chilwell girls teams won the following medals at the AV Relays, well done girls !! Guys need to catch up.

Athletics Chilwell Under 18 Women 4x400m Gold Medalists at the Victorian Relay Championships, held at Albert Park, on Sunday 25 November.2012
Naomi Gador, Emily Fyffe, Georgia Nemaric, Lucy Fyffe.

Emily Fyffe, Georgia Nemaric, Tessa Consedine, Naomi Gador, Won Silver in the time of 49.17 to brake the Geelong Residential record, from Under 18 to Open in the 4 x 100.

Alannah Kreidl, Lucy Fyffe, Isobel Gower, Corrin Demeo broke the U16 & U17 Geelong Residential record in a time of 4.14.45 in the U16 Medley relay

We also had Silver medal in the U18 Womens medley in 4.14.63 which broke the U18-open record - Team Naomi Gabor, Georgia Nemaric, Tessa Consedine, Emily Fyffe and also Bronze in the U16 4 x 400m in a time of 4.11.97 - Team- Corrin Demeo, Isobel Gower, Morgan Costelloe, Alannah Kreidl.(below)


 

 

 


Chilwell Little Athlete Abbey Krippl won the State Multi event for the under 10 girls age group at Lakeside Oval on 15/12/12.

Congratulations Abbey !!

Abbey then continued her great form to the State Track & Field Champs at Bendigo where she set new victorian records in winning both the 60m(10.44) & 80m(13.96) hurdles in the U10 age group !!

 

Congratulations to Maddison Traynor, who won a gold medal in the Under 16, 2013 Australian Heptathlon C'ships in very hot conditions, in Adelaide(Feb2013)

Richard wins more medals !!

Champion Chilwell athlete Richard Colman has done it again with GOLD in the T53 wheelchair 800m event at the London Paralympics 2012 and not to be satisfied with just one medal he also got the BRONZE in the 400m and 4x400m Relay.

Tessa has just completed her competition in Spain with excellent results in the 400m hurdles where she ran 5th in the semi-finals in a time of 59.75 after finishing third in her heat in 59.66 Tessa was also part of the 4 x 400m relay team which ran 8th in the final.
